Gettysburg inspired soldiers in 1863, and it continues to inspire those who ensure our democracy today.

For the 2022 Gettysburg Foundation Gala, an evening of philanthropic giving that raised more than $300,000 to support Gettysburg National Military Park, two short films wo short films explored the enduring relevance of Gettysburg’s legacy.

One piece, narrated by Ken Burns, reflects on the contemporary meaning of the Gettysburg Address; the other amplifies the voices of modern veterans whose service continues the work of protecting our democracy.

Brie directed and produced the project, leading research, interviews, filming, and editing to craft a cohesive narrative for the Gala program. Special thanks to the veterans who shared their stories, and to Ken Burns/Florentine Films for contributing time and footage from The Address.
